Professor Paul D Losty MD

Paul Losty has served as Professor of Paediatric Surgery at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and University of Liverpool, UK. Professor Losty trained in General Surgery and Paediatric Surgery in the major university teaching hospitals affiliated with the Royal College Of Surgeons (RCSI) in Ireland, Massachusetts General Hospital Harvard Medical School Boston, USA and at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital UK.

Working in Liverpool as a university academic surgeon with a professional career spanning almost 30 years he has trained generations of young paediatric surgeons in the clinic, hospital wards, operating room and laboratory. Amongst his major interests developmental lung biology and congenital diaphragmatic hernia feature prominently in a wide ranging portfolio of paediatric surgical research successfully awarded financial support by several funding bodies.

Professor Paul Losty will deliver the Royal College of Surgeons of England Hunterian Lecture at the 70th International Congress of the British Association of Paediatric Surgeons Sheffield, UK 2024.
