About us

BAPS had its inaugural scientific meeting in London in 1953.

Since then, the meeting has become an annual event and has been held in many locations both in the UK and overseas. Over time we have endeavoured to make the annual meeting important both for the scientific content and the social aspects, offering paediatric surgeons from around the world networking opportunities to meet and discuss work.

In recent years we have begun to include other colleagues in our meetings, and have support from Nurses, BAPU, BAPES and IPEG amongst others. Our 2017 congress was in association with the International Paediatric Endosurgery Group (IPEG), the International Society for Paediatric Wound Care (ISPEW) and the International Consortium of Bariatric Surgeons (ICABS). Our 2018 Congress was held jointly with the British Association of Paediatric Endoscopic Surgeons. We will be in Nottingham for 2019.

We are constantly looking at innovating to improve the delegate experience and are always happy to listen to feedback. Please contact us at congress@baps.org.uk.

We hope to welcome you in the near future to a BAPS meeting!
