SAPS in Bruges

Please join us in beautiful Bruges
It is a wonderfully maintained partially cobblestoned city – very easy to walk around.Nick and I are driving to Bruges

There is a large underground car park as you head off the motor way under the main square. Train or flights are equally easy.

We’re staying at Grand Hotel Casselbergh which is slightly more expensive than some others but is a historic hotel with sauna and hammam and is the Conference Hotel

We hope SAPS Members will stay there

 

We will start SAPS by walking a short distance for a dining experience on Tuesday 20th June at Patrick Devos. Sparkling wine and canapés on the patio, followed by a 3 course meal with appropriate wines, then coffee and petit fours. Cost will be about £79 – worth every penny Nick and I have tried it out!

 

Wednesday we will take a guided Historical/Medical walking tour from the Grand Hotel Casselbergh at 10am for 90mins including Alms Houses, convent and Pharmacy (sadly the old Hospital and Museum is closed for the year.) Cost of this tour is about £15 per person with £10 entrance fee to Pharmacy and, I hope, audio connections for each of us.

We will finish at Stael boarding place and if there are 30 of us we can have a private boat for a 30min canal boat trip.

Again about £10 each- 12.00-12.30

We will then walk across to the Concert Hall for snack.lunch in their cafe- soup, croquettes, spaghetti bolonaise, beef stew, beers wines coffee, to be paid for by yourselves

Through BAPS website: congress.baps.org.uk you can book your hotel and tickets to come to the Conference tea on Wednesday pm at BMCC- Bruges Meeting and Convention Centre, very near the Concert Hall will be available soon

You can also book through BAPS tickets for Wednesday evening Welcome Reception which will be on the terrace of the BMCC with wonderful views over Bruges

Why not stay on after SAPS and enjoy other sites and museums in Bruges. Also join the.main Conference.dinner at restaurant Loi”s canal side.
