Dr Maud Lindeboom, MD, PhD

Dr Maud Lindeboom, MD, PhD, is a paediatric surgeon, currently serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Paediatric Surgery at UMC Utrecht, the Netherlands. She specialises in paediatric upper gastrointestinal surgery, with emphasis on oesophageal atresia and airway surgery, and with a significant focus on surgical education and research.

Dr Lindeboom graduated from VU University Amsterdam in 1997. She undertook surgical specialty training between 2000 and 2005, completing her doctorate at the University of Leiden in 2003 with a thesis on minimally invasive antireflux surgery. Following her training, she held fellowship positions in paediatric surgery at UMC Groningen and UMC Utrecht, transitioning to a consultant role in 2011.

Dr Lindeboom has served as a member of the Education & Training Committee for the European Association of Endoscopic Surgery (2014-2018) and as Honorary Secretary on the Executive Board of the European Society of Paediatric Endoscopic Surgeons (ESPES) from 2020 to 2023. Since 2022, she has been appointed Chair of the ESPES Social Media & Branding Committee.

Dr Lindeboom is currently the Principal Investigator of an international multicentre randomised controlled trial on posterior tracheopexy in oesophageal atresia. She has been invited to deliver the keynote lecture on posterior tracheopexy at the 2025 Annual International Congress of BAPS in Bruges.
