David Cunningham is Chief Executive Officer of Global Health charity Kids Operating Room. He is passionate about helping every child have access to safe surgery when they need it – no matter where they are born.
A strong advocate of the Sustainable Development Goals, David is a global leader in delivering charitable programs for children’s health. He has provided leadership to healthcare projects in the UK and across the world, impacting the lives of millions of children.
David is a highly regarded charity regulation expert. He is a Board member of the UK Fundraising Regulator and a member of the regulator’s Standards Committee, setting the rules for all fundraising in the UK.
A Psychology graduate with a keen interest in early-years development, David has championed the importance of creating high-quality, age-appropriate environments for children’s healthcare in low-resource settings.
He is a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health and a trustee of the Foreign Policy Centre. David was awarded an honorary doctorate from the University of Dundee for his work to improve children’s healthcare services and was recently appointed to lead a review of donating medical equipment by the Scottish Government.
