Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist
Accredited EMDR/BSP Psychotherapist
I worked in the NHS for 28 years before working in the private sector. Initially I worked in Paediatrics caring for many different presentations, including transplant patients and burns victims but subsequently, I transferred to psychiatric services to work with mothers with post-natal depression and puerperal psychosis.
My practice has developed to work with adults with Severe and Enduring Mental Illness. I developed a special interest in Trauma therapy; I attended EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitising and Reprogramming) training at York University and became accredited in the field of trauma. I also hold a master’s degree in Applied Sciences and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy from Birmingham University,
I have worked with a variety of presentations in many sectors, including NHS employees who experience recurring trauma, not only in their individual field but also during the current pandemic. Many are feeling the effects of burn out and losing resilience in the workplace and therefore I wanted to support NHS colleagues by providing this workshop.
On a personal note, I love reading and walking my 2 golden retrievers.
