Prof Nott is a consultant general and vascular surgeon at St Mary’s Hospital in London.
He is well known to the medical community for his extraordinary humanitarian contribution around the world working with different organisations such as MSF, Red Cross and Syria Relief.
He has travelled to numerous warzones including Bosnia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Libya, Gaza, Syria and recently Ukraine. Often putting his life at risk to save adults and child victims of serious mutilating injuries.
In 2015, along with his wife he established the David Nott Foundation to improve the standards of care and provide vital surgical training to doctors in conflict zones.
He has received numerous awards for his humanitarian voluntary work including the Pride of Britain Award.
